Lineage

Land cover thematic grid of the Baltic Sea drainage basin compiled from Global Land Cover Facility (GLCF) data produced by NASA and University of Maryland. Original raster data is available unprojected (Geographic coordinate system, Sphere, rad 6370997 m datum) with spatial resolution of 30 arc-seconds (~1 km). The layer available here is a regional extract from the original database in Erdas Imagine (IMG) format projected into ETRS89_LAEA CRS (Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area projection and ETRS89 datum) with resolution of 1000 m, data format is thematic, unsigned 8 bit. GLCF Global Land Cover pixel thematic values are: 0 - Water (and Goode's interrupted space), 1 - Evergreen needleleaf forest, 2 - Evergreen broadleaf forest, 3 - Deciduous needleleaf forest, 4 - Deciduous broadleaf forest, 5 - Mixed forest, 6 - Woodland, 7 - Wooded grassland, 8 - Closed shrubland, 9 - Open shrubland, 10 - Grassland, 11 - Cropland, 12 - Bare ground, 13 - Urban and built-up areas.
